About Pixel Pixel is a boutique agency built for ideas that move. We help world-class brands launch what’s next—new products, bold campaigns, and everything in between. We work at the intersection of strategy, craft, and culture. The pace is fast, the standards are high, and the work is visible. We’re based in New York City with a hybrid culture that thrives on collaboration.
The Role We’re looking for an Art Director who’s ready to lead—someone who can generate original ideas, direct shoots, and shape campaigns that feel fresh, smart, and unmistakably Pixel. This isn’t a job for someone waiting on instructions. It’s for a maker with vision, a self-starter who can switch from concepting to directing to designing without missing a beat.
You’ll be the person in the room (and on set) pushing ideas into the world—ideas that are visually excellent, strategically sound, and built for the client’s brief, not the cliché.
What You’ll Do Concept & Build: Lead the creation of ideas that cut through—from social ads to live-action films to websites.
Direct: Take shoots from pre-production through post, keeping everything sharp, on-brand, and alive with your vision.
Design & Deliver: Execute across formats—ads, social, videos, sites—with craft and consistency.
Collaborate & Elevate: Partner with senior creatives, producers, designers, and the account team. Present ideas to clients with clarity and conviction.
Stay Ahead: Keep a pulse on design, culture, and production trends, and bring that energy into the work.
What We’re Looking For 3–5 years at an agency (at least 2 with live-action work under your belt).
A portfolio that shows range—campaign ideas, design chops, film/photo work, and social thinking.
Hands-on production experience—you know how to get scrappy and still make it beautiful.
Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
An eye for typography, color, and layout that goes beyond “good design.”
Someone who thrives in ambiguity, solves problems creatively, and pushes ideas forward without waiting for permission.
