We are seeking an experienced, highly skilled, and results-driven Structural Design Lead to oversee structural design projects in a fully remote capacity. This position is open exclusively to candidates residing within the United States, and applications from outside the U.S. will not be considered.
The Structural Design Lead will be responsible for leading the structural design team, ensuring design excellence, adherence to codes and standards, and timely project delivery. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage structural design projects from concept through completion
Supervise, mentor, and guide junior engineers and designers
Ensure compliance with building codes, engineering standards, and safety regulations
Develop and review detailed structural calculations, drawings, and technical specifications
Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, and project managers to ensure integrated project delivery
Oversee quality assurance and quality control for all structural design work
Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support for complex design challenges
Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and client use
Maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation to ensure successful project execution
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States
Proven experience in structural design with progressive leadership responsibilities
Proficiency with structural analysis and design software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, RISA, STAAD.Pro)
Strong knowledge of U.S. building codes, standards (IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE), and safety regulations
Excellent leadership, mentoring, and team coordination skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fully remote environment
Must reside in the United States and be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in multi-disciplinary project coordination
Expertise in commercial, industrial, or high-rise projects
Knowledge of sustainable and resilient design practices
Familiarity with BIM software and remote collaboration tools
Compensation:
Annual Salary: $115,000 – $145,000 USD, commensurate with experience and qualifications
