Operations Manager (Air/Ocean Import/Export) Location: USA – Charlotte, Coliseum Centre Dr Division: Air & Sea Job Posting Title: 93574 Time Type: Full Time The Operations Manager oversees the day‑to‑day activities of DSV’s transportation and logistics operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. This role is responsible for managing operational staff, implementing policies and procedures, and fostering strong relationships with customers and partners. The position reports to the Branch Manager. Duties and Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of transportation and logistics operations, including planning, scheduling, and coordination to ensure timely delivery of goods. Develop and implement operational policies and systems to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality. Monitor and analyze performance metrics, including productivity, cost, and quality, to identify opportunities for improvement. Foster a collaborative work environment to drive team success. Maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and vendors, ensuring satisfaction with services provided. Collaborate with sales, customer service, and other departments to align business operations and customer expectations. Implement Lean principles and methodologies to optimize processes and eliminate inefficiencies. Ensure compliance with transportation and logistics regulations and industry standards. Utilize transportation management software (e.g., TMS or WMS) to streamline operations. Ensure operational technology is effectively implemented and maintained. Supervisory Responsibilities Manage and lead department managers and other branch employees, including recruitment, training, performance management, and succession planning. Provide coaching and support to ensure employees are motivated and productive. Educational background / Work Experience Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred). 5 years of experience in transportation and logistics management, with supervisory or managerial responsibilities (preferred). Preferred Qualifications Experience in international transportation and logistics management. Skills & Competencies Lead Yourself: Display strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on operational excellence. Lead Your Team: Demonstrate leadership and team‑building abilities to manage and motivate staff. Lead Your Business: Deep knowledge of logistics processes, regulations, and industry best practices. Language skills Fluency in English is required. Computer Literacy Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. Physical and/or Mental Requirements / Working Conditions Physical Demands: Work is generally sedentary, with occasional standing, walking, and lifting. The employee may use computer and telephone equipment. Minimal travel may be required domestically and internationally. Work Environment: The employee is rarely exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise levels are usually low to moderate. Actual compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, geographical location, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
