MICRO MARKET ASSOCIATE – Full‑time, $1,000.00 incentive
Position at NAVY EXCHANGE SERVICE COMMAND (NEXCOM).

Job Summary Performs various duties within the Micro Market and vending machines, including operation, maintenance, product replenishment, and sales. Operates a motor vehicle throughout the area and on public roads.
Responsibilities
Maintains Exchange‑owned machines and Micro Markets daily.
Inspects, replenishes, and rotates products (sandwiches, cakes, pies, popcorn, salads, fruits, pastries, sodas, yogurt, laundry detergent, etc.).
Ensures product shelf‑life dates are adhered to and removes expired or spoiled items.
Sanitizes stores, cleans counters, wipes down coolers, and empties trash cans.
Greets customers and provides sales assistance, suggesting complementary items.
Communicates with supervisors about stock, sales trends, and customer preferences.
Sets up and maintains prices and branded visual programs (price lists, signage).
Resets merchant standards annually (product adjacencies, branding, placement).
Operates laptops, tablets, scanners, and handheld devices for inventory, ordering, and cash collection.
Relocates and installs new machines, cleans interiors and exteriors, and configures dispensing units.
Collects money from vending machines and kiosks on schedule; prepares cash‑collection slips (SS‑411). Coordinates with contractors and records counts.
Manages inventory control for micro markets, trucks, and routes in vending and micro‑market systems.
Collects turn‑in money bags daily, verifies cash, and prepares daily cash receipts (SS‑120). Deposits per procedures.
Interacts with customers and coworkers professionally while adhering to NEX dress code and uniform standards.
Loads/unloads merchandise, ensures protection from damage, and prepares daily trip reports.
Maintains preventive vehicle maintenance schedule, ensures adequate fuel, and keeps the vehicle clean.
Performs any related duties assigned.
Physical Effort Regularly lifts and transports moderately heavy objects up to 40 lbs; occasional heavier items with assistance or material‑handling equipment. Requires walking, bending, and reaching.
Working Conditions Work performed both inside and outside; occasional exposure to inclement weather while loading/unloading. Drives in all weather conditions and may experience cuts or bruises.
Job Requirements
Valid state driver’s license or valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
Knowledge and skills to operate a motor vehicle safely.
Ability to pass appropriate background checks (e.g., Federal DOD Security Clearance).
Pass GSA defensive driving course.
One year progressive responsible clerical/retail‑sales work demonstrating customer interaction, or alternative education as specified.
One year progressively responsible retail operations experience (sales, vending, store operations, warehouse).
Physical capability to stand, walk, and lift up to 40 lbs.
General Experience / Education One year progressive responsible clerical office or retail sales work. Alternative: Half‑year of academic study above high‑school level may substitute for each 6 months of experience.
