Locations:
Independence, VA – River North Correctional Center (Level 4, ~1,000 adult male inmates). Bland, VA – Bland Correctional Center (Level 1 & 2, 652 male inmates).
Hours:
Full‑time; Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–4:30 pm. One‑hour unpaid lunch break (3 days/week at River North, 2 days/week at Bland).
Pay rate:
$29.81/hr ($62,000 annually). Licensure holders (LICSW, LCSW, CSAC, CADC, or equivalent) receive $32.70/hr ($68,000 annually).

Responsibilities
Monitor patient compliance with program and DOC rules and regulations.
Perform assessments and evaluate inmates’ needs.
Provide quality clinical services and case management to assigned inmates in accordance with Spectrum’s clinical design and compliance with licensing, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
Lead group treatment using Spectrum curriculum and follow group facilitation protocol as trained.
Complete all required documentation for services required by Spectrum, DOC, and regulatory bodies within established timeframes.
Manage all outcome measurement tools required by Spectrum, DOC, and licensing within required timeframes.
Maintain records in accordance with Spectrum and VA DOC policies and procedures.
Maintain and ensure accuracy of CORIS screens.
Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning, case reviews, conferences, and other meetings as directed.
Maintain comprehensive current clinical skills, competencies, licensure, and certification as required.
Prepare and submit all required reports.
Serve as a role model/mentor for patients while maintaining professional boundaries.
Ensure program operates in accordance with Spectrum’s and DOC’s ethics and boundaries policies.
Provide referrals and aftercare services as required.
Qualifications
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology, education‑counseling, medicine, psychology, psychiatric nursing, rehabilitative counseling, social work, or a closely related field and at least two years of supervised counseling experience.
Licensure (LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, LPC) or CSAC, CADC certification preferred.
DOC experience preferred.
Medication‑Assisted Treatment experience preferred.
Knowledge of local/regional community resources for substance‑use recovery and reentry stabilization.
