Job Summary:

Report to the Terminal Manager

Lead, guide and direct terminal employees to include setting targets, monitoring performance, providing coaching, counseling and development. Accountable for the management of an efficient, clean and safe L2L operation

Responsible for all hiring, training and terminations; assuring all paperwork is processed according to proper Company guidelines with appropriate levels of follow up with management on timely task completion

Enforce understanding and compliance with all Company policies and procedures; safety rules and government regulations

Administer and carry out the Terminal Business plan set forth by the Terminal Manager

Will assist the Terminal Manager in the development and implementation of the terminals annual business plan, along with Terminal Strategies, Quarterly Business Reviews and the Period P&L Analysis

Direct investigations into causes of customer complaints and recommend solutions to correct them

Direct investigations into causes of employee relations complaints and work with the Human Resources Department to correct them

Responsible for meeting all the KPI’s set forth by the Company

Keep current on changes or new procedures within the Company

Will work in all areas relative to the operation of the terminal

Regular attendance is required.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background, Bachelor Degree preferred

A minimum of five years management experience in the LTL or transportation industry preferred

Must have good computer skills (AS400 and MS Office a plus)

Possess excellent verbal and written communication and listening skillsExcellent planning and organizational skills

Ability to create, implement and monitor training programs

Must have strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, mentor, and terminate employees

Some traveling required

Must have strong work ethic and good problem solving skills

Must be willing to work 50 hours/week average

Must be able to work any shift and in all areas relative to the needs of the terminal and in any weather condition

Must be able to lift approximately 20 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job

Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct

Must be able to interact well with others

Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting

Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities

Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check

Must be authorized to work in the United States
