Senior Business Development Executive (Individual Contributor)
Location: California (Hybrid or Remote within CA)
TS/SCI clearance required
We are partnering with a high-growth space and defense organization to hire a Senior Business Development Executive to act as a true hunter and closer across US Government customers, with a primary focus on the Department of Defense and the United States Space Force.
This is a hands‑on individual contributor role for someone who thrives on originating opportunities, shaping demand, and closing complex government contracts. You will own the full business development lifecycle from early customer engagement through contract award, with a strong emphasis on Space Force programs and Space Systems Command.
Base pay range $180,000.00/yr - $250,000.00/yr
What you will be doing:
Hunting and closing net‑new US Government contracts, focused on DoD and US Space Force
Leveraging an established network within Space Systems Command to identify and influence opportunities early
Owning capture strategy end to end, from shaping and qualification through proposal and award
Driving direct engagement with program offices, acquisition stakeholders, primes, and partners
Partnering closely with technical teams to position solutions aligned to mission needs, particularly in space mobility and propulsion
Representing the company at industry days, customer briefings, and classified or unclassified forums
What we are looking for:
Minimum 10 years of experience selling into the US Government
Proven success as an individual contributor winning DoD and US Space Force contracts
Active relationships and credibility within Space Systems Command
Experience across space mobility, propulsion, or adjacent space systems
Highly desirable backgrounds include former US Air Force or US Space Force officers, particularly at Captain or Major level
US citizenship required due to customer and clearance requirements
Compensation and benefits:
Base salary up to $250,000
Competitive performance‑based bonus
