Role Summary As the Autonomy Product Manager, you will own a key part of our HII Unmanned Systems product portfolio. You will drive autonomy across multiple platforms in maritime domains, overseeing attributes of capability, quality, product structure, deployment, and licensing. Working with multidisciplinary engineering teams and fellow product owners, you will deliver high‑value autonomy solutions to the market.
Responsibilities
Manage the autonomy product lifecycle.
Collaborate with business development to define market strategy.
Collaborate with engineering to develop the optimum product for our customers.
Represent the product externally with customers and at industry events.
Coordinate the resources to execute the autonomy product plan.
Set the schedule and release of autonomy product development.
Execute thought leadership on autonomy product strategy.
Qualifications
9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in Computer Science, Software, Engineering, or equivalent; or 7 years with a Masters; or 4 years with a PhD or JD in a related field.
Experience with autonomy software for unmanned vehicles.
Experience in successfully launching a software product, with a balance of software and hardware.
Eligibility to obtain and hold an active U.S. DoD Security Clearance.
Ambitious personality.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Travel for customer engagement (25‑35% travel).
Must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance.
Bonus Points
Advanced degree in Robotics, Software, Computer Science, or Engineering.
An active U.S. DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
Experience in an early‑stage startup.
Physical Requirements May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
