About the Property Manager Position The property manager is responsible for the overall operations of the property. Key duties include efficient operations, overseeing supplier contracts, maintenance, lease administration, and monthly reporting while creating a positive experience for residents, associates, and clients.
Manage day‑to‑day operations, resident satisfaction and retention, full resident lifecycle activities (lease administration, rent collection, delinquency management), property P&L, and marketing in accordance with company standards.
Meet client expectations and provide excellent customer service.
Recruit, interview, provide corrective feedback, and hire staff.
Create an environment where associates excel through shared vision, coaching, and development.
Execute the strategic marketing plan to attract and retain residents.
Understand operation guidelines in the property management agreement.
Respond to resident complaints, serve as liaison with corporate office for common‑area maintenance and enforcement of rules.
Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.
Organize and implement site natural disaster and emergency evacuation plans.
Manage safety records, loss claims, and risk‑management initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Two to three years in property management required.
One to two years of direct management experience required.
Knowledge of resident rental lifecycle activities required.
Real estate license preferred or may be required in some locations.
Knowledge of Salesforce.com preferred.
Experience with Yardi Voyager or equivalent system preferred.
Skills and Requirements
Very strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication at all levels.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Sensitivity to confidential matters.
Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to relay technical concerns with adequate detail, quickly and accurately.
Capable of reading, writing, comprehending, and conversing in English.
Ability to use general office equipment (telephone, fax, printer, copier, key track system).
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to defuse situations with angry or difficult people.
Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance.
