Senior Brand Strategist, AWS Brand
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Senior Brand Strategist to lead global brand and creative strategy for AWS. The role focuses on brand positioning, messaging, and creative strategy for our brand identity and design system, events, brand campaigns, content, and more. The strategist will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop and activate brand guidance that positively shifts perceptions and grows the business.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with Brand Insights to conduct, analyze, and synthesize customer and creative research to inform brand and marketing outputs.
Connect business goals, customer insights, marketing strategies, and creative development to generate innovative brand opportunities.
Shape foundational brand guidance—including positioning, messaging, personality, voice, and tone.
Develop scalable mechanisms to activate global positioning, messaging, and creative strategy across the organization.
Collaborate with creative, marketing, and product stakeholders to define the brand experience and deliver consistent, high‑quality customer experiences.
Write creative briefs and work closely with creative teams to produce performance‑raising outcomes.
Present strategy and recommendations to senior leadership, influencing decisions through data‑driven storytelling.
Elevate brand and creative strategy through training and thought leadership.
Manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, dynamic culture.
Facilitate strategic debates that result in the best outcomes for customers.
Contribute to a diverse and inclusive creative culture.
About The Team The AWS Brand & Creative team combines brand strategy with creative expression to build and maintain AWS’s brand. We rely on data, insight, and inspiration to set standards and raise the bar across every touchpoint and story.
Basic Qualifications
Experience managing and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience working across teams and synthesizing feedback from diverse stakeholders.
7+ years’ experience in brand development or strategy within advertising agencies, brand strategy consultancies, or in‑house marketing organizations.
Experience leading brand positioning, voice and tone, and visual system development for complex product and service offerings.
Experience working with marketing stakeholders and brand creative teams to develop durable visual brand systems across multiple touchpoints.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing external agencies.
10+ years’ experience as a brand planner/strategist inside brand/advertising agencies or brand marketing organizations.
Experience with AWS or AI and cloud/infrastructure sectors.
Track record of navigating complex businesses and producing breakthrough, award‑winning work that drove results.
Experience defining data and metric mechanisms to measure impact and guide improvements.
Compensation & Benefits Base pay ranges from $127,100 /year in the lowest geographic market to $210,300 /year in the highest. Compensation may also include equity, sign‑on payments, and additional benefits. For more details, visit
