The Division of Plastic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Cooper University Hospital is recruiting for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Surgery or above. Qualified candidates should possess or be eligible for certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. The ideal candidate will have completed fellowship training in microsurgery, will have prior clinical practice experience in breast reconstruction and have a strong interest in reconstructive microsurgery, teaching and clinical research, and leadership and program development. The selected candidate will provide general plastic surgery services but will focus on comprehensive breast reconstruction services as part of multi-disciplinary teams working at the Cooper University Hospital and MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. The selected candidate will also function as a member of the teaching faculty at the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University training residents in the Cooper Plastic Surgery Integrated Residency program and teaching medical students and rotating surgery residents. Specific duties will include:

Responsibilities

Sharing in leadership decisions for the breast cancer program

Representing the Plastic Surgery Program to MDA, Surgical Institute and senior leadership

Facilitating program development including strategy, operations, and pathway development

Providing input to capital and operating budget for the cancer center

Participating in marketing and planning meetings for breast surgery

Functioning as a new member of:

Cancer Leadership Team meeting

NAPBC team

Cancer Committee

Quarterly Surgical Services Update team

Location Cooper University Hospital, the clinical campus of Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, is the leading provider of health services to Southern New Jersey. Program Overview The Division of Plastic Surgery at Cooper University Hospital is an expanding program with 6 surgeons who function in a team-based atmosphere. This is an outstanding and unique opportunity for an experienced plastic surgeon to lead, to establish and grow an academic practice and be part of a very strong and growing residency program.
