Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

FLSA Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

Neighborhood Housing Services of Baltimore (NHS) is seeking a Director of our Homebuying Center to lead a dynamic team dedicated to delivering financial coaching, homeownership education, and mortgage programs.

This role is central to advancing NHSB’s strategic goals and ensuring high-quality services for aspiring homeowners.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to set strategic goals and achieve measurable outcomes, proven leadership in developing and leading a strong cross‑functional team to reach departmental goals. A strong candidate will have expertise in affordable housing and lending, including familiarity with HUD guidelines and certifications.

Functions include but are not limited to, overseeing program implementation, data tracking and reporting, developing and maintaining community partnerships, and collaborating with staff and external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree or advanced education is a plus.
  • Minimum of five (5) years successfully managing a team and/or directing the work of others.
  • HUD Certified Housing Counselor or ability to obtain certification within first three (3) months of employment is required.
  • Pre‑Purchase Counseling Certification.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of homeownership coaching, counseling, or case management experience. Prior lending experience is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license OR Maryland ID.
  • Satisfactory background check.
  • Satisfactory reference check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One or more years working in a non‑profit, social service or housing and community development environment.
  • Successful history with high‑volume, accurate data entry, and data management.
  • Familiarity with Baltimore communities preferred.
