Position Summary
The Senior Cellular Therapy Account Manager will be field‑based and will build and develop professional relationships, serving as the account lead within targeted academic hospitals and surrounding physicians to ensure the successful introduction and appropriate use of our product.
This role reports to the Senior Marketplace Director for a specific region. Key stakeholders include cell therapy specialists, transplant physicians, and community‑based leukemia and lymphoma specialists who make therapy decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Demand Generation:
- Engage healthcare providers on the benefits of Kite CAR T compared with other options.
- Drive day‑to‑day demand generation activities, meet frequency targets, and achieve sales goals.
- Identify and map patient referral pathways and facilitate patient access to treatment within the ATC and/or referral network.
- Provide product education to drive demand for Kite CAR T therapies, differentiate Yescarta/Tecartus from alternatives, and deliver approved messaging.
- Monitor sales progress and action plans, adjusting as needed to hit targets and KPIs.
- Educate ATC staff on CAR T process to eliminate utilization barriers.
- Deliver clinical instruction (e.g., AE Management Guide, Product Insert).
- Assist the Key Account Director with customer education on access and reimbursement protocols.
- Record field activities in CRM and support promotional events, including peer‑to‑peer speaker programs.
- Account Engagement:
- Navigate complex account environments and understand stakeholder needs at all levels.
- Build professional relationships within academic hospitals.
- Collaborate with the Key Account Director to prioritize demand enablement initiatives and execute account plans aligned to local strategy.
- Provide timely feedback on account trends, therapeutic landscape changes, and opportunities.
- Establish relationships with ATC HQ, medical teams, and key decision makers.
- Gather and share customer insights and support issue resolution.
- Manage compliance‑related activities (REMS, audits) and work with the Onboarding Director on site authorization.
- Patient Access and Reimbursement Support:
- Map referral pathways and facilitate patient access.
- Support Kite Konnect Case Managers with registration, travel/lodging awareness, and reimbursement case resolution.
- CAR‑T Process Support:
- Maintain visibility of the patient journey from intro to infusion.
- Coordinate patient flow, ensuring teams are prepped and communication is maintained.
- Manage cancellations, particularly pre‑apheresis, and communicate disruptions.
- Other Responsibilities:
- Assist in onboarding new ATC sites and authorizing treatment centers.
- Support customer awareness of the CAR T process and third‑party payor access.
- Coordinate with case managers and ATC staff throughout collection, reprogramming, and infusion.
- Operate in compliance with all laws, regulations, and data protection policies.
Basic Qualifications
- Doctorate with 2+ years of relevant experience
- Master’s with 6+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s with 8+ years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
- High‑performance track record and proactive initiative in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Passion for commercializing breakthrough medicines with strong scientific acumen and patient‑centric focus.
- Strategic understanding of oncology, ideally cell therapy, and robust business acumen.
- Experience managing large accounts, strategic planning, and cross‑functional execution.
- Launch experience in academic hospitals preferred.
- Knowledge of hematology/oncology therapy areas.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, negotiating, and relationship‑building skills.
- Independent, self‑motivated with analytical problem‑solving ability.
- Graduate or master’s degree with sales experience in pharma/healthcare.
- Ability to travel overnight up to 25%.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is: $177,905.00 – $230,230.00. Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. This position may also be eligible for discretionary annual bonus, long‑term incentives, paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company‑sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
