Key Responsibilities

  • Report to the Executive Director of Product & Project Management and operate within the broader Pharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing (PDM) organization.
  • Lead a team of product and project management professionals who partner closely with PDM Product Strategy Team Leads to support a diverse portfolio of small‑molecule and biologics drug candidates across development and commercial stages.
  • Serve as the subject‑matter expert for the commercial phase, providing guidance across the Product & Project Management group.
  • Lead non‑product strategic initiatives that contribute to broader organizational priorities.
  • Coach and develop PMs at various career levels, fostering high‑performing teams.

Focus Areas

  • Lead the team of PMs to support PDM Product Strategy Leads and Product Teams, identifying and sharing best practices.
  • Act as SME on commercial product PM, drawing upon deep knowledge of commercial product milestones.
  • Provide feedback on templated tools and processes for the PDM Team System, such as single‑page product strategy tools.
  • Partner with PDM Product Strategy Leads to develop, obtain approval, and execute product strategy, including milestones, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Support PDM Operations Management’s implementation and iteration of G.Plan (Planisware) and G.Plan product templates, ensuring accurate data flow into milestone planning and resource‑allocation tools.
  • Implement processes for PMs to collect product budget information on a per‑product basis, supporting PDM Operations and Finance.
  • Drive product portfolio reporting and analytics for PDM Operations Management.
  • Support and manage Director‑level PM work on non‑product projects.
  • Lead, coach and develop PMs across career levels.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in life sciences or a relevant business discipline (e.g., MBA) with 14+ years of varied post‑graduation experience, OR MS with 12+ years of relevant experience, OR PhD with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven track record PM’ing commercial biopharma programs and working with commercial teams.
  • Strategic commercial acumen with deep understanding of biopharma commercialization processes—launch planning, market access, pricing, and promotional strategy.
  • Experience leading end‑to‑end tech transfer activities for commercial manufacturing, managing complex transfers to/from CDMOs with oversight of timelines, risk mitigation, documentation, and cross‑functional coordination.
  • Familiarity with commercial compliance, promotional review processes (MLR/PRC), and labeling constraints.
  • Ability to partner with product/project leaders to set vision and strategy for cross‑functional teams.
  • Ability to navigate and lead in a highly networked environment with elevated influencing skills.
  • Expertise in developing and managing project scope, deliverables, risks, and resource requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to summarize and present complex information clearly.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, interacting effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Understanding and communication of scientific and business elements associated with pharmaceutical/biotech products.
  • Experience leading PM teams.
  • Leadership qualities: collaboration, building high‑performing teams, accountability, cross‑functional engagement, program management, strategic vision, executive presence, coaching, goal setting, performance management, and the ability to lead without authority.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $243,100.00 – $314,600.00, based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Eligibility for discretionary annual bonus, stock‑based long‑term incentives, paid time off, and a benefits package exists. Benefits include company‑sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
