Job Description AECOM is seeking a Community Outreach Coordinator based in the New York, New York office. The role of the Community Coordinator (CC) is to plan and coordinate outreach processes and activities related to planning, design, relocation, construction, and other areas at specific New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) Developments. This role will work closely with resident associations, stakeholders to ensure proper notification of program status, seeing resident input in key areas on a daily basis, and will aid with briefings on relocation, construction, and other aspects of the program.
Responsibilities
Plan and execute multi stakeholder meetings per established engagement plan related to Project Pre-Planning/Procurement, Design/Relocation and Construction
Coordinate and provide regular communication to questions and concerns raised by residents
Resident engagement will include phone calls, distributing flyers/brochures and door-to-door canvassing
Schedule regular updates to stakeholders, Tenant Association, and residents
Present at meetings and workshops
Solicit updates from the construction, relocation, and other teams to share and present to the residents
Ensure materials are informative, easily digestible, and translated
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Due to the nature of the job, U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Requirements:
Two plus years of demonstrated engagement skills with disadvantaged populations.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbal, and the ability to communicate diplomatically while remaining focused on the agency’s goals and priorities.
Knowledge of New York City public housing, stakeholder engagement strategies, working with city/state/federal elected officials, and working with disadvantaged and non-English speaking populations.
Experience working in and around construction sites: basic knowledge of phase of construction, procurement, design, and key terminology in the construction industry.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including Excel, PowerPoint, and Project), e-Builder construction project management software, and graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
Must be able to work in evenings or on weekends as needed, to perform outreach activities or staff public meetings.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $81,000 to $145,445.
