Commercial Lines Account Manager Role Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Commercial Lines Account Manager to partner closely with Producers and support the ongoing management, retention, and expansion of an established commercial insurance portfolio. This role plays a key part in delivering exceptional client service, strengthening relationships, and supporting new business initiatives. The position is full‑time and offers flexibility for hybrid or in‑office work.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a technical and service resource for Producers, clients, and internal teams on day‑to‑day policy matters.

Manage renewal workflows in alignment with agency processes, coordinating closely with Producers and carriers.

Assist with the preparation and submission of new business and renewal applications.

Develop and deliver insurance summaries, proposals, and coverage schedules for clients and prospects.

Issue and review binders, policies, certificates, and evidence of insurance, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and proper documentation.

Evaluate certificate and evidence requests to confirm alignment with contractual obligations and policy terms.

Coordinate policy endorsements and changes with clients, Producers, and carriers; review for accuracy and process related billing.

Review carrier audits and work with carriers and clients to resolve discrepancies when identified.

Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries via phone, email, and written correspondence.

Oversee billing, collections, and policy cancellations in accordance with agency guidelines.

Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date client records within the agency management system.

Participate in client and prospect meetings alongside Producers when appropriate.

Contribute to additional projects and responsibilities as business needs evolve.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum of five years’ experience in a client‑facing commercial insurance role managing a book of business.

Active Property & Casualty insurance license required.

Solid understanding of commercial insurance products, carrier markets, and underwriting practices.

Comfortable working with agency management systems; experience with Applied EPIC or similar platforms is a plus.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, carriers, and internal stakeholders.

Commitment to continuous learning and staying current on industry developments, regulations, and coverage trends.

Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to support Producers and contribute to overall agency success.

Employment Details Location: Charlotte, NC (hybrid/remote). Salary: $55,000 – $65,000. Employment type: Full‑time. Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level.
