Senior Financial Investigator
Pay Range Pay range: $74,156.16/yr – $107,114.45/yr (Secretary of Defense salary ranges; actual pay will be based on skills and experience)

Location Hawthorne, CA
Responsibilities
Plans and conducts investigations.
Performs quantitative, qualitative, and other analysis of relevant facts.
Prepares results to support the mission.
Develops and analyzes evidence from investigators, law enforcement officers, and other sources, and collects information relating to this evidence or legal matters.
Gathers and analyzes facts, including statements, timelines, scientific or technical data, to advance prosecutorial objectives.
Establishes and verifies relationships among all facts and evidence to confirm authenticity of documents, corroborate witness statements, and build proof for successful litigation.
Provides analysis relevant to violations of federal law, including money laundering, wire fraud, mail fraud, bank fraud, health‑care fraud, procurement fraud, and other frauds.
Identifies sources of information and multiple variables.
Conducts asset investigations, verifies employment, and performs financial analysis to ensure the target can pay monetary penalties.
Develops understanding of applicable federal, state, or local law and makes sound decisions on the direction and scope of investigations.
Devise methods for obtaining, preserving, and presenting evidence to the greatest effect.
Works with Paralegals, Legal Assistants, and supervisory attorneys to determine applicable statutory and regulatory law and identify possible violations.
Performs a variety of ancillary services in direct support of assigned cases and matters.
Uses electronic databases to identify assets, documents, and other physical evidence.
Prepares interim and final reports on the progress of investigations.
Assists in the compilation and analysis of documents and physical evidence, and the creation of charts, graphs, audio‑visual materials for motions and trials.
Prepares affidavits and testifies in court as required.
Advises on methods for planning, scheduling, and conducting investigations and identifies any required resources.
Examines records such as books, ledgers, payroll, billing statements, invoices, correspondence, computer data and other records pertinent to the investigation.
Establishes and verifies relationships among all facts and evidence to confirm authenticity and build proof for case resolution.
Qualifications
Minimum of four years experience in planning and conducting civil or criminal, complex investigations concerning misuse of public, private, or insurance funds.
Working knowledge of current investigative techniques, including commercial databases and other information sources.
Valid U.S. driver's license.
U.S. Citizenship and eligibility to obtain the required background investigation clearance.
Preferred Experience
Experience in law enforcement.
Experience in analyzing, organizing, and presenting large volumes of data using common software programs.
Experience reviewing and understanding financial records.
Experience interviewing potential witnesses.
Consideration for candidates with prior experience in the United States Army, Department of Homeland Security, or other large federal agency.
