Overview Valeris—a fully integrated life sciences commercialization partner formed by the merger of PharmaCord and Mercalis—seeks an experienced leader to oversee pharmacy operations at our specialty mail‑order pharmacy in Louisville, KY. The role focuses on regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and operational excellence while supporting patient‑centered care.
Core Responsibilities
Serve as Pharmacist‑in‑Charge (PIC), ensuring compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws and all licenses.
Maintain PIC responsibilities across multiple state jurisdictions and manage licensing renewals and regulatory audits.
Develop and enforce policies for REMS, DSCSA, HIPAA, URAC, and internal standards, and resolve compliance issues with CAPA processes.
Oversee clinical services, drug reviews, and patient safety initiatives.
Collaborate with prescribers, manufacturer clients, and other healthcare providers to resolve clinical escalations.
Implement technological and workflow improvements to optimize prescription processing, documentation, and patient safety.
Monitor KPIs, production goals, and staff performance; use metrics to guide staffing and training.
Supervise onboarding, training, continuing education, and competency assessments; coach and conduct performance reviews.
Coordinate with compliance, quality, and corporate teams for continuous quality improvement and regulatory reporting.
Represent the pharmacy for client audits, quarterly business reviews, and stakeholder communications.
Qualifications
Education:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited school.
Licensing:
Active unrestricted pharmacist license in Kentucky; additional non‑resident state licenses preferred.
Experience:
5–8 years in clinical pharmacy, regulatory compliance, or specialty/mail‑order operations; 2–5 years managing at least 3 reports.
Proven experience as PIC or equivalent regulatory leader.
Experience with auditors, inspectors, and regulatory agencies.
Knowledge & Skills:
Pharmacy laws (REMS, DSCSA, HIPAA, state regulations, URAC), DEA/FDA, pharmacy management systems.
Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to manage cross‑functional teams.
Digital dexterity and familiarity with CRM and computer applications.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, and type 35 WPM accurately.
Additional Requirements
Maintain CEU credits for licensure.
Participate in professional development and staff training.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Complete a criminal background investigation.
