Sr. Business Manager – Retail Fraud Strategy and Analytics
As a Senior Manager, Business Analysis at Capital One, you will apply strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges. You will lead and work with world‑class professionals to develop and test strategies that impact the bottom line while fostering continuous learning, collaboration, innovation and development of new responsibilities in a high‑intensity setting dedicated to protecting customers from fraud. In the Customer Protection (CP) organization within Retail Bank, you will lead a team of business analysts and work with data scientists, product owners, engineers, and operations leaders to combat fraud and develop the capabilities required to beat future fraud attacks. Your role also involves supporting the integration of Capital One and Discover through technology and customer migration planning. Responsibilities
Develop business strategies that drive growth, profitability, and competitive success in changing consumer and regulatory environments. Own and manage P‑L for critical business segments, with a 1‑ to 6‑month planning horizon. Lead and coach a team of analysts, fostering talent development and retention. Develop and implement product and pricing strategies, and lead product‑level modeling and analytics. Lead direct‑to‑consumer marketing initiatives, generating insights to design new customer experiences and breakthrough technology concepts. Drive credit‑risk improvements through driver analysis, risk modeling, hypothesis testing, rigorous monitoring and analysis. Coordinate cross‑functionally to manage delivery of business intent, build requirements, and execute product strategy. Partner with IT, sales, operations, finance, and others to improve quality, volume, service and profitability. Apply strong analytical judgement and problem‑solving skills, with a quantitative orientation to support data‑driven decision making. Exhibit strong business judgment, integrity and an aggressive yet responsible approach to business. Communicate effectively at all levels, influencing senior leaders and driving agreement through negotiation and executive presentation skills. Deliver results with focus on short‑ and long‑term goals in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering). At least 2 years of quantitative analysis experience. At least 2 years of qualitative analysis experience. At least 1 year of people‑management experience. At least 1 year of project‑management experience. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Business or a quantitative field. 5+ years of quantitative analysis experience. 5+ years of qualitative analysis experience. 2+ years of people‑management experience. 2+ years of product‑development experience. 2+ years of financial‑modeling experience. 2+ years of economic‑forecasting experience. 2+ years of project‑management experience.
