Product Development Engineering @ Universal Punch Corp
General Machinist – Set up and operate lathes, mills, surface grinders, and hand equipment with minimal supervision. Achieve face and diameter holding tolerances between .005" and .0002". Inspect internal and external dimensions using micrometers, gauges, and ammeters. Document SPC data and collaborate with management staff and supervisor. Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement. Overtime is generally required—first piece and in-process inspection of the necessary work.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate general lathes, mills, and surface grinders.
Verify part quantity with the job traveler.
Make machine adjustments to maintain print specifications.
Load and unload machines per the cycle time noted on the traveler.
Determine when wheels need replacement.
Understand blueprints and travelers.
Qualifications
Manual milling and turning experience: 4-5 years (required). Training on CNC milling and turning will be provided.
United States citizenship/residency (required).
Work Hours & Shift 1st Shift: 7 am to 4 pm.
