Alton Memorial Hospital

Starting as a land gift to the community from the Smith family, Alton Memorial today is a full-service acute care hospital. Alton Memorial offers patients a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery services, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24‑hour emergency care, ambulance services and more.
Plant Operations goal is to keep the hospital, medical office building and Eunice Smith Nursing Home infrastructure in good working order. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Provides the necessary skill for operation and maintenance of the physical plant systems in a manner to ensure safe operation, optimum performance, and maximum efficiency and all other duties as required. Provides the most difficult repairs and overhauls on any of the mechanical equipment in any facility in the system.
Responsibilities
Keeps equipment clean and operational. Handles and disposes of hazardous and/or infectious waste properly and practices infection control. Adheres to regulatory guidelines.
Operates, repairs, troubleshoots, and maintains all physical plant equipment in compliance with all department procedures and policies, and all applicable compliance, safety, federal, state and local regulations.
Completes all assigned critical and routine equipment preventative maintenance by utilizing approved procedures, department policies, and manufacturer‘s specifications.
Notifies appropriate leadership in the event of equipment malfunction, boiler casualty, or any other unforeseen event that negatively impacts the operation of the boiler plant or the hospital steam system.
Monitors elevators and determines if a repairman needs to be dispatched.
