Senior Electrician / Lead Electrician – Jackson, MS Join Jacobs as a Senior Electrician or Lead Electrician in Jackson, MS. You will maintain, repair, and upgrade electrical systems to keep municipal services running safely and efficiently.

Base Pay Range $61,700 / yr – $98,000 / yr

Your Impact As a Lead Electrician, you’ll support the operation of water and wastewater treatment plants, ensuring that electrical infrastructure performs reliably for communities. Your work will improve safety, reliability, and operational efficiency for our municipal clients.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Repair and maintain all facility electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment following blueprints, manuals, and building codes.

Install and repair electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment.

Maintain motors, generators, and electrical control systems.

Test equipment to identify and resolve malfunctions.

Inspect facility equipment to detect hazards and recommend adjustments or replacements.

Inspect circuits and wiring for proper shielding, grounding, and code compliance.

Plan layouts for new wiring installations.

Conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment, including boiler control systems and electric motors.

Calibrate and repair electrical‑pneumatic control systems and log all findings.

Maintain documentation to support maintenance activities.

Qualifications

4 + years’ experience operating water/wastewater treatment plants.

Leadership experience: ability to assign tasks and manage a team.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and maintenance management systems.

Proficiency with plant SCADA systems and equipment like PLCs.

Valid driver’s license with no major infractions.

Desired Experience (Ideally)

In‑depth knowledge of engines, pumps, valves, motors, and related mechanical equipment.

Understanding of biological and chemical sewage analyses and wastewater treatment processes.

Experience with plant PLCs, SCADA, and data management systems.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements This role requires frequent travel to plant sites, exposure to high‑pressure environments, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks while following safety protocols.
