Performs account maintenance, billing, reconciliation, reporting and customer service related activities. Duties include database maintenance, research tasks to support contract administration, cash control operations, assignment of medical record numbers, generation and distribution of contracts and member ID cards, facilities support and entry of documents into the workflow imaging system. Essential Responsibilities Identify, research and reconcile billing payments to ensure accurate eligibility determination, payment, revenue and membership records. Set up and maintain member data including enrollments, corrections, retroactivity adjustments and terminations. Support eligibility inquiries. Ensure bills are correct and mailed in a timely manner. Interact with purchaser benefit administrators to answer questions and explain Health Plan policy and contractual provisions. Assist health plan purchaser contacts, sales and service representatives in the sales process and problem resolution. Conduct audits of purchasers with large payment variances or unallocated payments, resolving discrepancies and delinquencies. Ensure purchasers comply with Health Plan policies and contractual provisions. Prepare reports and manage purchaser correspondence. Receive, enter, review, research and balance daily purchaser deposits and bank sources. Assist in producing and distributing payment?related reports to purchasers, management, printers and peripheral equipment. Support Medicare processing and reporting requirements. Update contract changes promptly and accurately in contract systems. Assist in producing and distributing contracts and notices for new and renewing purchasers and individuals. Answer, research, issue and resolve problems related to medical record numbers (MRN). Process purchaser eligibility electronically, coordinate media exchange, maintain equipment, and logs. Identify, code, batch, scan and index documents for imaging. Provide office services support: mail, filing, supplies, facilities maintenance, photocopying and copier maintenance. Work with internal and external customers and vendors to resolve support service issues. Collect and monitor productivity and customer service quality measures. Participate in team?based projects and customer service & operations improvement initiatives. Assist with training as required. Facilitate communications across business lines and Kaiser Permanente departments. Participate in purchaser performance evaluations and target setting activities. Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required. Additional Requirements

Demonstrated ability to work in a team?based environment. Successful customer service track record. Ability to diagnose, analyze and solve quantitative and qualitative problems. Clear and professional communication skills. Computer experience, preferably in a PC Windows environment. Willingness to learn new tasks and adapt to new business requirements. Excellent conflict resolution and decision?making capabilities. Ability to work productively on multiple tasks. Flexibility in shifting priorities. Testing required: Account Administration Representative Assessment with a passing score of 31st percentile or higher.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in accounting, finance or related field. Experience with peripheral equipment operations, printers or magnetic tape equipment, and knowledge of operating systems such as MVS/ESA and JES2 mainframe applications, and tape management systems. Experience with mainframe applications and computer transaction processing. Accounting, bookkeeping and/or finance coursework.
