BuzzClan is seeking a detail-oriented Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst to join our team in Houston, TX (Hybrid). The ideal candidate will optimize software assets, ensure compliance, and drive cost efficiencies across enterprise licensing.
Key Responsibilities
Manage software license tracking, allocation, reconciliation, and compliance audits
Conduct true‑up preparation, renewal management, and usage optimization
Handle onboarding/offboarding governance, access controls, and license reclamation
Develop advanced reports and dashboards using Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP), SQL, and Power BI
Perform license utilization analysis, cost optimization, and forecasting
Implement SAM governance frameworks, policy development, and audit readiness
Coordinate license requests with Procurement, Contracts, and Finance teams
Collaborate cross‑functionally with IT, Helpdesk, Security, and Leadership
Support vendor contract reviews and enterprise‑wide cost‑reduction initiatives
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience in Software Asset Management and license compliance
SQL knowledge for data extraction and validation
Power BI expertise for reporting and executive visualizations
Hands‑on experience with:
ServiceNow ITAM/ITSM
Remedy
SCCM/Configuration Manager
Active Directory
Office 365/Microsoft Admin Center
SharePoint
Strong understanding of vendor licensing models (Microsoft M365, Office 365, third‑party software)
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Must be eligible to obtain SECRET clearance
