Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Ocean Import Coordinator to join their growing freight forwarding team in Naperville, Illinois. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to work both remotely and in-office while managing the full cycle of ocean import shipments from origin to final delivery.
Base Pay Range $68,000.00/yr - $68,000.00/yr
Competitive salary up to $68,000, based on experience

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage end-to-end ocean import shipments (FCL and LCL)
Track cargo movement from origin through final delivery and proactively resolve issues
Prepare, review, and process import documentation including bills of lading, arrival notices, ISF, and delivery orders
Communicate with overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers, truckers, and warehouses
Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations
Monitor shipment milestones and provide timely updates to customers
Verify freight rates, review invoices, and ensure accurate billing
Maintain accurate shipment records in the company’s TMS/operating system
Deliver exceptional customer service while meeting deadlines and service level expectations
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in ocean import operations within a freight forwarding environment
Strong knowledge of ocean import documentation and customs compliance
Familiarity with Incoterms, ISF filing, and CBP regulations
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Proficiency with freight forwarding systems and Microsoft Office
Ability to work independently in a hybrid setting and collaborate with a team
