MEI Industrial Solutions
Diesel and Gas Truck/Tractor and forklift mechanic providing maintenance for MEI fleet of Ford and Dodge service trucks (both gas and diesel 250 thru 450), forklifts (up to Versa Lift 100/1400k), various make/models of tractors and flatbed trailers including Landoll/KS RGN flatbed trailers.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
The ideal candidate can do mid-level mechanic work on gas and diesel vehicles, routine PM service, brake service, and hydraulic systems.
Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts.
Basic knowledge of operating equipment (Forklifts, man lifts, mobile platform lifts, etc.)
Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules, installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; and completing as-needed procedures.
Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives, and adjusting controls and systems.
Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; and calling for extensive and complex repairs.
Contains costs by using a warranty, evaluating service, and parts options.
Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; and verifying receipts.
Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Complete housekeeping duties in the assigned area or project area daily and/or when required.
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Complete required papers.
Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
Two to five years of proven fleet mechanic experience is preferred.
Ability to use precision measuring tools and equipment, hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
Excellent attention to detail, thoroughness, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Hydraulic equipment experiences preferred.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Performing General Physical Activities — Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials up to 50 pounds.
