Role Summary The Enterprise Services – Real Estate Solutions team is seeking a Facilities Engineer specializing in Fire Protection Systems. The position is located in the Andover, MA facility and includes responsibilities for additional local NH and MA locations. This role manages the fire protection systems to ensure that all fire alarm, fire prevention and suppression systems are compliant and at the highest state of readiness. It collaborates with customers, contractors, supply chain, planning, account managers, maintenance, finance, environmental health & safety, security, and design engineering.

What You Will Do

Act as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) of Fire Protection Systems

Be responsible for meeting RTX policies and procedures, Federal, State and Local fire codes and building regulations.

Provide technical support to management teammates and trades personnel.

Provide system operations and response training to facilities and security personnel.

Support and coordinate all fire, life safety systems regulatory requests and activities for local, state, federal and other regulatory agencies.

Be involved in system evaluations and create recommendations to senior management based on schedule, cost, applicable codes and system research.

Review fire protection drawings for compliance with NFPA, FM, and RTX/Raytheon directives

Provide team leadership based on your technical knowledge and ability to routinely develop cost effective solutions over a range of complex issues while ensuring solutions are innovative and consistent with organizational goals and objectives.

Perform work with minimal direction and communicate well with team members, management, Security, EHSS, internal customers, bargaining unit, outside contractors and vendors.

Liaison with local fire departments

Ability to work nights and weekends as required for operational needs and on-call response duties

Qualifications You Must Have

Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field and 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree and 3 years relevant experience. In lieu of a degree 9 years of relevant applicable experience may be considered.

Massachusetts Low Voltage license: A, B, C, or D.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in leading building infrastructure.

At least 5 years’ experience and field knowledge of fire alarm systems and specialty fire protection suppression systems.

At least 5 years’ experience with an understanding of State of Massachusetts, National Building, NFPA codes and Factory Mutual (FM) data sheets.

Qualifications We Prefer

Project Management experience.

Prior experience in the development of new concepts, techniques and standards as well as experience in developing solutions to complex problems.

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and be capable of communicating with customers both orally and in writing.

Experience consulting with management on fire system maintenance and repair issues.

Solid computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook) and EDS (electronic drawing systems) AutoCAD.

Salary Range 82,000 USD – 164,000 USD

Application Process Role Type: Onsite – eligible candidates must reside near the RTX hub in Andover Ma. This is an onsite role, and employees who work primarily onsite will work mainly at the RTX hub in Andover, MA.
