The role The Senior Credentialing Specialist plays a critical role in overseeing provider credentialing, licensure, roster maintenance, and health plan enrollment. Reporting to the VP of Revenue Cycle Management, this role leads credentialing support staff and ensures providers are fully credentialed, enrolled with payers, and compliant with licensing requirements. The position also ensures accurate and timely entry of provider data into the EMR and billing systems, supporting operational efficiency and revenue cycle accuracy.
Unless otherwise specified, this position is remote (work from home). Candidates must reside in one of the following states: Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, or Connecticut.
What you will do
Credentialing, Licensure, and Roster Maintenance
Lead and supervise credentialing support staff, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely processing of credentialing and enrollment tasks
Oversee provider credentialing, licensure, and internal enrollment with Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and Commercial Plans
Enter, update, and maintain provider data in the EMR and billing systems to ensure accurate records for credentialing, billing, and operational purposes
Maintain provider rosters, monitor license and certification renewals, and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards
Resolve credentialing and licensure issues, escalating potential delays to leadership as needed
Facilitate multi‑state licensure and DEA registrations, ensuring smooth onboarding and cross‑state compliance
Serve as the primary point of contact for providers, clinical leadership, and state licensing boards regarding credentialing and enrollment matters
You are a good fit if you have
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Extensive experience in provider credentialing, licensing, and health plan enrollment, preferably in a behavioral health setting
Knowledge of multi‑state licensing requirements and credentialing best practices
Proven experience supervising or mentoring staff
Experience entering and maintaining provider data in EMR and billing systems
Highly detail‑oriented, proactive, and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
Comfortable working independently and collaborating across remote teams
It will also be great if you have
CPCS Certification
Multi‑state licensing experience in NH, VT, ME, NC and MA
Hands‑on experience with internal provider enrollment platforms such as Verifiable
Work location requirements
BLP operates in hybrid and remote work environments, which allows us to better meet our members and partners where they’re located. Must have reliable internet service with a fast upload/download ability
Ability to ensure any protected health or proprietary data/information is not visible (or audible) to others in any work location
Must have a quiet space to speak to members, team members, or external partners with minimal background noise and distractions
