Base Pay Range $38,250.00/yr – $44,474.00/yr

PIRG is hiring campaign associates to lead national and state‑level campaigns that protect consumers, advocacy for healthier and more sustainable products, and promote market transparency.

Representative Responsibilities

Work with coalitions:

Reach out to organizations and constituency groups across the political spectrum to demonstrate support for campaign goals.

Organize support, hold events, and work with volunteers:

Build public support and recruit organizations and members of the public. Organize webinars, community events, and public meetings to educate, persuade, and motivate.

Earn traditional media and social media attention:

Organize media events and write opinion pieces. Build a following on social media for your campaign.

Lobby elected officials:

Coordinate strategy with champions in Congress or state houses. Advocate to undecided legislators and secure votes during critical elections.

Recruit new people to your team:

Building a team of volunteers, interns, and full‑time staff.

Run a grassroots campaign office each summer:

Manage a summer office, raising money, building grassroots support, meeting fundraising goals, and leading paid staff.

Qualifications Entry‑level candidates are encouraged to apply. We expect real‑world responsibility, leadership, top‑notch writing and public speaking skills, eagerness to learn, and a willingness to take on challenge. Organizing experience, including campus or community groups, is highly valued.

Compensation and Benefits The target annual compensation is $38,250 (may range from $38,250 to $44,474 based on location). PIRG offers medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents; paid sick time (60‑72 hours/year, dependent on location); vacation time (10 days in year 1, 15 days in year 2, 20 days in year 3 and thereafter); commuter benefit program; 401(k) plan with employer match; parental leave; long‑term disability insurance; and needs‑based student‑loan assistance. Training and advancement opportunities are also available.
