Sales Professional – Outside Sales
Service Corporation International (SCI) seeks an outside sales professional to serve family clients in cemetery and funeral services. The role focuses on providing compassionate, personalized service while driving revenue through pre‑need and at‑need arrangements.
Responsibilities
Serve client families by making at‑need cemetery arrangements and selling pre‑need plans.
Act as the primary contact for families and generate revenue for the cemetery.
Lead Generation: Prospect a minimum of 1–2 hours each day, obtain referrals from served families, network and build community relationships, present introductions to families, and maintain activity logs to track productivity.
Build Relationships with Families: Respond to inquiries promptly and respectfully, listen actively, understand unique needs, provide value‑adding solutions, maintain contact for satisfaction, prepare for appointments, follow through on customer requests, and earn referrals through trust‑based relationships.
Teamwork: Coordinate with funeral directors, location managers, and cemetery staff to provide seamless, high‑quality service; review prior services and prepare for current needs; share family concerns with the SCI team.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; 1–2 years of college or equivalent experience.
Experience:
1–2 years in customer service or sales industry (preferred).
Licenses:
Current state/province driver’s license with acceptable record; insurance license if required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Pass company presentation certification within 30 days of hire; ability to work evenings, weekends, and up to 12‑hour days; frequent driving; empathy and respect for others; computer proficiency; customer service skills.
Compensation & Benefits Target Compensation Range:
$50,000 to $100,000 annually, based on a commission‑based incentive structure. Subsequent years may yield $100,000–$150,000+ depending on performance. Minimum pay is $15.00 per hour.
