Responsibilities
Assist the Bakery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
Handle ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Bakery team
Execute rotation of merchandise and build displays
Monitor incoming cases for damaged items
Ensure delivery of excellent customer service and monitor the quality of Bakery products
Unload and sort through store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment
Ensure compliance with all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, and verify that all Bakery team members are aware of and following these procedures

Qualifications
At least 18 years of age with a minimum of two years’ retail grocery experience and two years of supervisory experience
Dependable and reliable with a flexible schedule, including night, weekends, and holidays
Outgoing, friendly behavior, positive attitude, and strong customer interaction skills
Good communication skills; able to give and take direction in a team environment
Ability to answer phones and take special orders
Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area (tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.)
Operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, hand trucks; knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
Stand for up to 3 hours continuously, total 8 hour shift; vertically transfer trays up to 5 lbs. (7” to 64”) for up to 10 hours, and transfer items up to 40 lbs. (5” to 36”) for a distance up to 36 feet for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance
Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; maintain a Food Handlers permit
