The Director of Nursingis the clinical leader for RNs, LPNs, and ChargeNurses throughout the affiliate. Theincumbentensures thatall nursing staff arefully trained and capable of performing all aspects of their assignments.The Director engages with allclinicalstaff in a manner thatpromotes high morale, excellent patient-centered care, and creates a professional and caring work environment.In coordinationwithPPGP’s medicalleadershipandLearning and Developmentteam, theDirectordesigns andprovidestraining totheaffiliate’s nursingstaffandmonitorscompliance withnursing-relatedregulatoryrequirementsas defined by the state, federal, PPFA standards and guidelines, and Planned Parenthood of Great Plains (PPGP)policies and guidelines.The director addressestraining,riskmanagement, and patient satisfaction issuesin a timely manner and is accountable for performance outcomes within clinicalsettings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plans, assigns,monitorsand manages the work of others,including evaluating clinical skills for RNsandLPNs.Ensuresskills and competencies are compliant with Planned Parenthoodguidelines,policies, procedures, and practices, and state andfederalregulations.
Incoordination with the VP of Health Servicesand health center leadership,develops,maintains,and communicatesnursingschedules to ensureappropriate staffing.GuidesandassistsHCMswith RN/LPN health centerschedules.Additionally, coordinates the on-call nursing schedule.
Activelyparticipatesin the recruitment, hiring and training of nurses per PPGP policy and guidelines.
Develops, implements, and evaluates the onboarding program for new nursing staff.
Coaches andmentorsdirect reports.Identifiesand addresses training needs for nursing staff.
Monitors productivity and professional standards and ensures standards are met or exceeded.The Directorparticipatesin periodic complication reviews with the medical leadership team.
Partnerswith the Learning and Development Team in the development and implementation of clinicaltrainingprograms.
Partners with administrative staff in addition to clinical leadership to ensure all performance expectations are met.
Reviews performance and evaluates results achieved by direct reports.Provides quarterly feedback on performance tocharge nurses,RNs, LPNs,and HCMsto be shared with individual staff members.
Partners with the Associate Medical Directors, Chief Medical Officer and VP of Health Services toestablishnursing-specificstandards of quality, productivity, and performance.Provides staff with ongoing feedback regarding the status of these standards and provides direction in resolving issues.
Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies.Regularly reviews audit and quality improvement activities and makes recommendations andimplementsimprovements.
Actively partners with thepharmacydirector to ensure sufficient supplies of prescription medications are available.
Conductsregularsite reviewsat health centers that provide abortion care.Regular travel will includelocations within the KCmetroarea andone-day orovernight visits to otherfacilities.
Evaluates and recommendsnew technologytoassistin performance of duties andensurethat licensed staff are competent with new equipment and procedures asevidencedby observation and documentation.
Understands racial inequities and the impact on healthcare systems. Ensures a lens of health equity when evaluating outcomes,patientexperienceand team member experiences.
Demonstrates a commitment to safety for all staff byparticipatingin emergency drills, engaging with the security team as needed, and finding opportunities to reinforce all safety requirements withhealthserv icesteam members.
Participates in theroll-outof new services and procedures.
Participates in direct patient care as needed.

Requirements
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and active RN compact license Missouri and Kansas
Five to eight years supervisory experience
Demonstrated ability to train and develop health care professionals
Demonstrated ability to achieve successful health center outcomes in asharedleadershipsetting
Demonstrated commitment to employeesand patient engagement
Excellent written and verbal skills
Experience with Electronic Health Records, office applications including Word and Excel
Clinical skills including sedation, IV placement and phlebotomy management
BLS certification required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a surgical center or PACU
Experience conducting adult education or precepting
Prefer advanced knowledge of EPIC/EHR system
$135,000 - $145,000 a year
37.5 Hour Work Week, 4 days per week including some Saturdays
