Alterations Specialist – David’s Bridal At David’s Bridal, you empower customers and your career to find the perfect fit. As an Alterations Specialist you are responsible for completing all fittings and alterations to the highest quality standards and reporting to the Store Manager. You exemplify friendly, knowledgeable, and technical expertise while delivering superior customer service.

Essential Job Functions

Welcome all customers with genuine, friendly enthusiasm over the phone, virtual chats, and in person, communicating clearly and concisely while problem‑solving and resolving conflict.

Use all systems to manage customer flow and deliver a five‑star customer experience.

Maintain all service levels by being prepared, welcoming, meeting needs, and being there for every customer, including operational checklist tasks and meeting emotional and practical needs.

Provide an exceptional service experience to multiple customers at one time and contribute to the store’s Five‑Star Customer Service achievement.

Proactively address customer concerns with confidence, knowing when to elevate issues and partner with the leadership team.

Communicate how alterations improve the dress for the event in partnership with Alterations, promoting all alteration services and personalization options.

Assist stylists in closing sales by consulting with customers regarding gown fit and customization.

Maintain store‑standards to support a flawless shopping experience and a high standard of dress that complies with the Dress Code Policy.

Greet and escort all alterations customers to and from appointments, inspecting garments to verify pristine condition before final delivery.

Respond promptly to all customer questions by providing product and service information and building long‑term relationships to exceed satisfaction and loyalty.

Maintain inventory management by processing special orders, pickups, and ensuring first‑quality standards for all merchandise.

Ensure alteration pricing is at company standards and manage all alterations, fittings, sewing, steaming, pressing, and spot cleaning to company quality.

Resolve customer service issues swiftly and effectively in compliance with company guidelines.

Support all cash wrap behaviors and process transactions with accuracy to make every customer feel celebrated.

Maintain the alterations room as consistently clean and well‑organized.

Perform duties and tasks as assigned by store management.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

1–2 years prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.

Prior sewing experience required, preferably in bridal and/or special‑occasion production.

Prior experience with computerized POS (Point of Sale) system is a plus.

Physical Demands

Occasional standing, walking, sitting for extended periods; reaching for tools; climbing stairs; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; bending, twisting, and standing.

Manual dexterity to use POS terminals, count money, steam garments, access computers, and handle telephone calls.

Manual dexterity to sew and perform fittings to company standards.

Ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds.

Good vision (up close, distance, peripheral, depth perception) to read and use computers, electronic devices, and phones for long periods.
