We are seeking a Marketing/Business Development Specialist to support our Aviation/Transportation practice, which offers design and consulting services primarily through the architectural channel. Service offerings will be focused on Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, Audiovisual Systems, IT/Telecommunications, Electronic Security Systems, Lighting, and Acoustics. NV5 also offers a number of other related services, though the focus will be MEPT. No technical background is needed; however, experience offering professional services through the architectural channel is essential. Familiarity or interest in the Aviation/Transportation market is highly desirable.

This role is a key part of our marketing and business development team, working closely with principals, project managers, and other marketing professionals across the country. Depending on location, the position may be remote, in-office, or a hybrid.

Responsibilities

Lead nationwide BD strategy in the Aviation/Transportation sector

Build and grow relationships with architectural partners and owner institutions

Identify upcoming project opportunities and proactively position NV5 with potential teaming partners and clients

Reach out to architectural firms to explore teaming opportunities

Monitor industry procurement platforms for relevant opportunities

Collaborate with design leadership to assemble pursuit teams tailored to specific opportunities

Coordinate and facilitate meetings—both virtual and in-person—with potential clients, alongside NV5 leaders when appropriate

Conduct market research and develop intelligence folios across the Aviation/Transportation sector

Execute targeted outreach for strategic opportunities

Track and share relevant news, case studies, and industry articles with internal teams and external partners

Partner with the marketing team to develop branded content and messaging specific to the Aviation/Transportation sectors

Identify speaking and engagement opportunities for NV5 leadership as subject matter experts

Collaborate with other NV5 divisions to share insights and expand cross-disciplinary networks

Develop a working knowledge of NV5’s broader service offerings to enable strategic introductions

Mentor emerging leaders in BD best practices and techniques

Qualifications

Minimum of 8 years of experience in business development, with at least 4 years in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry

Experience working as a subconsultant to architectural firms or within professional services

Existing relationships with architectural firms are a strong plus

Knowledge of the Aviation/Transportation sector is highly desirable

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, English, or a related field (equivalent experience will be considered)

Self‑started who can thrive working remotely

Strong collaboration skills and a team‑oriented mindset

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills

Familiarity with CRM platforms, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and MS Teams
