Overview
We are currently seeking a
Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic
for an Environmental Services company located in
Saratoga County . This candidate will inspect, repair, assemble, disassemble, diagnose, and maintain heavy construction equipment and diesel-powered vehicles. This position will include working out of the shop and providing field service on various job sites across the greater Northeast region.
Base pay range $38.00/hr - $42.00/hr
Minimum Qualifications
5-10 years of experience as a heavy equipment diesel mechanic
Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License and DOT Certified
Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and hydraulic systems
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
Ability to multi-task, manage work priorities, and effectively work within a deadline driven environment
High school diploma or GED
Completion of a formal training program in diesel mechanics through a technical school or community college
Master Mechanic (ASE) certification
Job Duties
Perform repairs on a wide range of heavy equipment including engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, exhaust systems, transmissions, suspension, brakes, and more
Analyze malfunctions, troubleshoot problems that may not be readily apparent, and find solutions to challenging repair scenarios
Order parts and maintain inventory
Conduct thorough inspections and routine maintenance to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns
Use computerized tools and equipment
Maintain accurate records of all services performed
Conduct field visits in case of an emergency or sudden breakdown
Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations
Hourly Rate $38-$42 per hour
