Responsible for providing guidance and direction to the student organization team, including assistance with University recognition, recruitment, program and event planning, major event management, risk management, accessing University resources, understanding and negotiating University policies and procedures, organizational development, and enhancement. Additionally, provides leadership and active support to the Division of Student Affairs with campus-wide initiatives to enhance campus spirit and traditions that will cultivate more engaging activities and experiences outside of the classroom to enhance the student experience at UCR. This position will also take on large-scale programs/projects within the Student Organization Team. The Senior Coordinator will also assist at various departmental functions and events. This position will support the Student Life and ASPB mission, vision, and strategic plan, which focuses on social justice, leadership development, and creating a sense of belonging for students. The full salary range for the ASPB Senior Coordinator (job code: 004568 ) is $66,500 - $118,300.00 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $90,000 annually. We base placement within these ranges on the individual's qualifications as they relate to this position. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements. Position Information

Knowledge of advising and counseling techniques. Skills in project and program management, social perceptiveness to be aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do. Knowledge of risk assessment principles along with the ability to evaluate risks and the likelihood of consequences. Thorough knowledge of Student Affairs/Student Life specialization. Strong skills in active listening, critical thinking, negotiation, reasoning, organizing, written and verbal communication; multitasking and intercultural competence and uses these skills to develop original ideas to solve problems. Strong leadership skills to motivate employees and influence attitudes and behaviors.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs Skills in monitoring/assessing people, processes or services, to make improvements. Strong knowledge of University and departmental policies, processes, and procedures.

Generic Scope

Provides direct supervision typically to professionals or skilled technical employees. Functions as advisor to unit and administration. Analyzes and resolves problems, interprets policies (e.g., fiscal management, HR, contracts and grants, resource management in defined areas) and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Supervises staff to assure accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental goals and objectives.

Custom Scope

Supervises Student Life & Development Specialists and support staff, and administers a component of a Student Affairs or Student Life program. Independently oversees day-to-day operations, and determines goals and performance expectations of subordinates. Makes recommends concerning improvements of program/function to manager.

Department Custom Scope

The Senior Coordinator for the Associated Students Program Board (ASPB) has overall responsibility for the operations, personnel management, and budgeting of ASPB to ensure that the programs and events follow established operating policies, procedures, and UCR's Principles of Community. The Senior Coordinator for ASPB is the primary advisor for the student leaders in ASPB and provides leadership, guidance, vision setting, training, and support. The Senior Coordinator assists the board in delivering a robust campus entertainment experience for the undergraduate students at UCR as they collaborate with various campus partners. As the undergraduate population continues to grow and more students live on-campus, ASPB's programs have also grown in demand, complexity, and size. The ASPB Senior Coordinator addresses and resolves competing priorities while serving the students and supporting campus partners. The Senior Coordinator works with appropriate campus partners to manage event risk assessment and management at ASPB small and large scale events. The Senior Coordinator also leads the team in the review and management of the ASPB strategic plan, assessment plan, and fundraising/sponsorship plan. Additionally, this position supports general Student Life Office functions, events, and the Student Life mission, which focuses on social justice, leadership development, and creating a sense of belonging for students.
