We are seeking a
Maintenance Superintendent/Manager
for a fulltime position with our client near the Tulsa, OK area. Prior foundry experience is desired. Relocation is available. Responsibilities:
Manage the Maintenance Department which is responsible for maintaining all equipment including production equipment, plant air, gas and water systems, and installation of new equipment to ensure the plant is operational. Direct a staff of craftsmen including Mechanics, Electricians, Welders, etc. Locate and evaluate new and used equipment, if needed. Operate the department within guidelines with minimal supervision. Direct the work, people, and results of the Maintenance Department by setting goals, organizing and assigning work, training employees, evaluating employees, and maintaining a productive work environment. Develop and maintain an effective machinery maintenance program, including preventive maintenance, which minimizes production downtime. Work closely with Production Control and Manufacturing Departments to schedule maintenance and/or repairs at appropriate times. Organize, plan, and assign work to maintenance employees to apply skill and experience to ensure favorable repair costs, quality of work, and minimize production schedule interruptions consistent with production and profit requirements. Develop short and long-term plans relating to operating costs, labor requirements, equipment replacement, equipment overhaul, and plant shutdowns. Ensure all maintenance operations and repairs comply with federal, state, and local codes. Ensure that all company policies and safety procedures and regulations are followed within the area of responsibility. Lead and make decisions that align with the corporate vision and strategy based on the principles of safety awareness, product quality, preventative maintenance, productivity, and continuous improvement. Develop and monitor meaningful KPIs for their area of responsibility. Know safety rules that apply to the safety of others and personal safety. Perform other work as instructed by the supervisor. Participate in regularly scheduled safety meetings and toolbox talks. Interact with and be accountable to supervisors regarding safe work behaviors and developing safety knowledge and job skills. Aid in accident investigations, as needed. Set an example for safe behavior and show commitment to safety. Minimum Qualifications:
4 years’ (minimum) supervision experience desired. Previous maintenance experience is required (maintenance in a foundry preferred). Previous manufacturing industry experience (foundry experience preferred). Basic computer skills (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Ability to learn technical information. Ability to read and interpret difficult blueprints. Ability to use measuring instruments. Able to work extra hours on weekdays or weekends as required to fulfill job duties. Must possess an active license to operate a company vehicle if needed. Must meet physical requirements for the safe operation of mobile equipment as administered by the Safety Department. Due to the hazardous nature of the job environment (mobile equipment, overhead cranes, etc.), acceptable levels of vision and hearing are required to identify and respond to visual and audible warnings in a safe manner. A negative tuberculosis test result.
