Exempt Essential Functions
Manages, directs, and evaluates assigned staff; develops and oversees employee work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and control; compiles and reviews timesheets; approves/processes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriate; assists with or completes employee performance appraisals; directs work; acts as a liaison between employees and management; and trains staff in operations, policies, and procedures. Organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work; prioritizes and schedules work activities in order to meet objectives; ensures that subordinates have the proper resources needed to complete the assigned work; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; consults with assigned staff to assist with complex/problem situations and provide technical expertise; provides progress and activity reports to management; and assists with the revision of procedure manuals as appropriate. Oversees the issuance of occupational and alcohol licenses; audits applications, payments and accounts; ensures proper classifications for businesses; directs collection activities; and ensures all related documentation is maintained. Manages accounts receivables, payments received for taxes, licenses, or other County services; supervises receipt and collection of tax payments and batch processing; certifies financial activities are in compliance with County policies, rules and regulations and monitors employee performance to ensure accounting principles are followed. Oversees customer service functions; provides information and technical assistance to division services, activities, procedures, fees, forms, or other issues; ensures staff is properly trained to assist the public in completing applications and other forms as needed and respond to questions/complaint, research problems and initiate problem resolution; ensures customers receive appropriate and timely assistance with clearing up accounts; oversees preparation and processing of customer refunds. Manages monthly reports, tracks and reviews division budget, external audits; issues close out findings, reporting, tracking and elevation of issues; acts as senior leadership to facilitate training and quality assurance strategies that will result in meeting targeted business goals. Oversees IT/Hansen on system upgrade, updating processes and procedures; ensures accuracy of reports on monthly financials to balance Hansen to Oracle systems. Attends court hearings and meetings with other departments and divisions on special account cases; works with legal to prepare documentation for court; and creates ad hoc reports. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Financial Management, or a related field required; three years of experience in business license processing; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. CPA preferred. Specific License or Certification Required
Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
