Dear Media is seeking a YouTube Strategist to lead content creation and growth for the Dear Media flagship channel as well as partner channels within our network.
Full‑time role based in Los Angeles .
Responsibilities
Content Strategy –
Manage YouTube content across Dear Media’s channels – develop strategies for video topics, playlists and posting schedules that align with audience demand and network objectives.
Content Creation & Optimization –
Guide video editors on what clips to pull from shows. Provide feedback on editing, thumbnails, and metadata to drive performance. Establish best practices and templates for video packaging across the network.
SEO & Discoverability –
Perform keyword research and implement SEO best practices. Optimize video titles, descriptions, tags, and playlists for improved visibility in search and suggested video feeds.
Audience Development –
Do in‑depth research to understand target audience demographics, interests, and viewing habits. Identify growth opportunities based on audience insights and competitive analysis.
Performance Tracking & Analysis –
Monitor key performance metrics (watch time, CTR, retention, subs growth). Generate regular performance reports with actionable insights. Adjust strategy based on data‑driven learnings.
Trendspotting & Innovation –
Stay ahead of YouTube trends, platform updates, and competitor strategies. Experiment with new content formats, monetization tools, and audience engagement tactics.
Talent Collaboration & Growth Strategy –
Meet with talent and their content teams to advise on growth mechanisms, platform best practices, and next steps for scaling. Provide tailored recommendations that align with each show’s brand, audience, and long‑term goals.
Channel Management –
Upload content to various YouTube channels across network in addition to providing strategy.
Experience
3–5+ years of hands‑on YouTube channel management experience (media company, or creator‑led brand)
Proven track record of growing channels and increasing audience engagement
Strong understanding of YouTube’s algorithm, analytics tools, and SEO optimization.
A track record of creating engaging content that connects with an audience and drives audience loyalty and growth
A knowledge of what kinds of content resonates with women 25‑44, and an ability to stay on top of trends
Ability to work cross‑functionally with internal teams
Data‑driven mindset with a creative approach to content packaging
Excellent communication skills and proven success collaborating directly with talent and their teams to align on strategy, creative direction, and growth opportunities.
