Base pay range $50,000.00/yr - $50,000.00/yr
The Domestic Freight Coordinator is responsible for managing and monitoring day-to-day domestic freight shipments, ensuring timely pickup and delivery, and providing excellent communication to clients, carriers, and internal teams. The ideal candidate has some prior exposure to domestic logistics or transportation operations and is eager to learn and take on broader responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and execute domestic freight shipments from pickup through final delivery.
Book shipments with carriers, negotiate rates when applicable, and ensure compliance with company and customer requirements.
Track and trace freight movements, resolving delays or issues proactively.
Maintain accurate shipment documentation including BOLs, carrier confirmations, and delivery receipts.
Communicate shipment status updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
Assist in carrier management, including sourcing and onboarding carriers as needed.
Work closely with internal operations, customer service, and accounting to ensure smooth workflow.
Support problem resolution and exception management for time-sensitive or high-priority shipments.
Contribute to continuous improvement of domestic logistics processes.
Qualifications
Required: Some experience in domestic freight, transportation, trucking, or logistics (freight forwarding experience a plus).
Understanding of basic freight operations such as LTL, FTL, expedited, or intermodal.
Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
