We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented

Business Development Manager

to lead and grow our sales function while managing key operational processes. This individual will be responsible for overseeing estimates, client communications, project coordination, and internal team alignment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inside and outside sales, preferably within the signage industry, and possess excellent organizational and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

Manage inbound leads: nurture, qualify, and quote with input from Design, Fabrication, and Installation teams.

Conduct outside sales activities including site surveys and client prospecting.

Develop and execute quarterly sales plans; adjust strategy based on pipeline health.

Make 100+ contact points weekly through calls, emails, and in-person visits.

Handle estimate follow-ups and convert estimates into orders.

Attend / lead company meetings and daily morning huddles.

Maintain strong client relationships and resolve issues proactively.

Project & Operations Management

Oversee and prepare accurate estimates and quotes.

Review, change, and update orders as needed.

Manage the design process and ensure alignment with client expectations.

Monitor and update the design queue.

Ensure proper storage and documentation of client files.

Review standards and compare them to actuals for continuous improvement.

Handle ACH/COI requests and vendor communications.

Place purchase orders and manage vendor relationships; void or cancel orders when necessary.

Create and follow up on AR invoices.

Generate reports on future invoices and payments received.

Review cost accounting and profit engineering metrics.

Track and report on KPIs related to sales and operations.

Work closely with designers, fabricators, installers, and other subject matter experts.

Ensure clear communication of feedback, assignments, and priorities across teams.

Provide regular updates to both internal teams and clients on project status.

Qualifications

Proven experience in inside and outside sales, preferably in the signage industry.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Highly organized and detail oriented.

Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

Client-focused with a can-do attitude.

Experience with ERP systems and cost accounting is a plus.

Creative thinker with a proactive approach to business development.

Lead and grow the sales department into a larger division.

Work in a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams.

Influence company strategy through pipeline management and performance metrics.
