Lead Operational Practices Specialist

to join our team. The successful candidate will bring business and technical expertise to support the development and management of operational activities, ensuring compliance with federal and state pipeline safety regulations and company standards across CenterPoint Energy Gas Operations. Responsibilities Coordinate federal and state inspections, regional pre-audits, reporting, and post-audit follow-up. Provide data and information for annual and incident reports, incident investigations, and safety condition analyses. Lead and develop policies and procedures related to operator qualification and public awareness for Gas Operations. Interpret applicable federal and state regulations, agreements, policies, and procedures; develop compliance solutions. Develop new policies, procedures, and guidelines for Gas Operations. Communicate relevant information across all company levels, including management presentations. Develop and monitor regulatory control mechanisms to ensure adherence to all applicable regulations. Foster open communication with departments, providing suggestions and solutions to operational issues. Collaborate with management to identify best practices and ensure consistent procedures. Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and recommendations. Participate in internal committees and external industry teams, contributing to process improvements and problem resolution. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Minimum of seven (7) years in pipeline operations, with expertise in regulatory, gas operations, procedures, business, IT, engineering, or process improvement.
