Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events (including kids birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop and find what they’re looking for; ensure a fast and friendly checkout experience. Complete operational tasks including truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards as needed to deliver Brand Promises. Coordinate and manage events (Event Coordination). Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity. Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities. Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards. Communicate events with clients and store team members. Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed. Adjust plans and events based on client’s feedback and needs. Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed. Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events. Uphold the company’s cleanliness and safety standards. Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event. Qualifications / Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Energetic and enthusiastic personality. The ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with others, including guests of all ages and co-workers, are essential functions of the job. Must have excellent people skills. Must have experience working with children and children’s events. Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills. Must have organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and creative problem-solving skills. Retail and/or customer service experience required. Cross trained in Custom Framing selling and production (if applicable). Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Ability to remain standing for long periods of time. Ability to move throughout the store. Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching. Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment. Reasonable accommodations may be requested to perform essential functions. Public retail store setting with climate-controlled public areas; some stock rooms may not be climate controlled; some outdoor work if assigned; nights, weekends, and early mornings.
