Job Purpose The Product Stewardship Manager plays a critical role within the BG Compliance team, leading efforts to ensure regulatory compliance for product safety data sheets, compliance documentation, product labeling, and applicable product compliance standards and obligations. This position is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and training programs that support product stewardship objectives. The role requires close collaboration with cross‑functional teams—including R&D, Marketing, Operations, and Procurement—to proactively manage regulatory risks, support market access, and uphold the company’s commitment to responsible product lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Product Stewardship team, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, goal setting, coaching, and professional development.

Provide strategic direction and oversight for global regulatory compliance and product stewardship initiatives.

Establish and execute departmental objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and long‑term goals.

Oversee regulatory tracking, research, and analysis to support product stewardship activities.

Serve as a contact for 24‑hour emergency response and regulatory inquiries.

Coordinate and oversee responses to internal regulatory requests and external compliance questions as appropriate.

Interpret and communicate global regulations related to health, safety, packaging, labeling, transportation, and reporting to relevant internal stakeholders.

Drive product compliance with federal and state labeling, hazard communication, and registration requirements (e.g., OSHA, EPA, CLP/EU REACH, K-REACH, DOT).

Manage chemical compliance reporting obligations, including VOC CARB/OTC, EPA/CDR, and TSCA 12(b), as needed.

Administer state and international pesticide registration programs.

Collaborate cross‑functionally to assess regulatory risks and support compliance for existing products, product changes, and innovation initiatives.

Monitor and interpret changes in relevant regulations and emerging chemical regulatory issues to ensure proactive compliance.

Identify potential regulatory risks and recommend corrective actions to mitigate exposure and ensure timely compliance.

Leverage relationships with industry trade associations to inform strategic decisions and advocate for regulatory and operational excellence.

Maintain quality standards within the scope of the role.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) in Chemistry or Environmental and Safety Sciences or related field.

A minimum of five (5+) years of experience in product stewardship or chemical compliance within the chemical or manufacturing industries.

Must have a valid driver’s license.
