Assistant Deli Manager – Sprouts Farmers Market

Overview of Responsibilities
Assist the Deli Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Deli team.
Effectively coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
Assist in leading a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience your customers will receive.
Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Deli team.
Unload and sort through store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment.
Ensure compliance with all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations and confirm team members follow these procedures.

Qualifications
Be at least 18 years of age with a preferred 2 years of supervisory experience and strong knowledge of deli or related food service.
Dependable and reliable, able to work a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to give and receive direction in a team environment.
Outgoing and friendly behavior, positive attitude, and ability to interact with customers, take special orders, and answer phones.
Demonstrated leadership ability to build, motivate, and maintain staff, with working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
Strong focus on detail, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Food safety certification and adherence to federal, state, and company regulations regarding product freshness, food safety, weights and measures, store safety, employee safety, refrigeration, and sanitation.
Strong organization and planning skills; able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Ability to lift or carry product horizontally or vertically up to 70 lbs. from 4” to 60”, for a distance up to 20 feet, without mechanical assistance for up to 4 hours.
Ability to stand continuously for up to 4 hours, for a total of 8 hours per shift.
Operate a slicer, wrapping, and cooking equipment; assist in maintaining all equipment in safe working condition.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
