Job Summary:
Under limited supervision, the Deputy City Clerk assists the City Clerk in planning, organizing, and coordinating all aspects of the City Clerk’s Office with accuracy, efficiency, confidentiality, and professionalism as assigned. Performs a wide variety of technical, highly responsible, and specialized administrative duties including conducting City elections; maintaining and managing Citywide municipal records program; reporting on and maintaining actions of the City Council; coordinating interdepartmental communication; managing website and social media content; maintaining and updating City Code; and performing related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
Associate degree, Minnesota Certified Municipal Clerk (MCMC) or Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC), or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform all essential responsibilities of this position.
Considerable experience providing customer service and interacting with the public.
Requires attendance at evening meetings and occasional work outside the standard office hours.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working in municipal government or public sector administration.
Two or more years of experience as a lead support person in a confidential, executive level environment.
Notary Public or ability to obtain certification.
