We’re seeking a highly motivated and results‑driven

Editor/Producer

to join the streaming arm of

TEGNA’s Central Content

team. This dynamic role requires a creative journalist with a passion for storytelling and a commitment to creating engaging and authentic content for a diverse audience. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and versatile self‑starter with a strong sense of responsibility for creating compelling, high‑quality video content that captivates and informs our growing audiences across our local television stations’ streaming apps. They will have a strong background in news production, with a proven ability to edit video and graphics using a keen artistic eye, write effective scripts, and work collaboratively in a fast‑paced and ever‑evolving environment. This role will involve both editing and producing live and VOD content for TEGNA’s streaming apps.

Responsibilities

Use editing tools and creative production techniques to create video content

Develop innovative, engaging and authentic news content for a national streaming audience

Write clear, engaging scripts that are backed by accurate and reliable research

Combine live pictures, graphics, compelling video and emotional sound to create an engaging experience for our audience

Challenge traditional ways of doing things

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

Perform additional tasks as needed to support the overall goals of the team

Advocate for underrepresented people, communities, and viewpoints to have a voice and presence in our content

Requirements

BA/BS degree preferred in journalism, communications, or related field or equivalent years of experience.

Knowledge of editing systems such as Edius and Premiere

Experience editing news content and an understanding of the tenets of professional journalism

Solid journalistic judgement and a news philosophy that emphasizes accurate, fair, and unique content

Organizational skills and the ability to work under time‑pressure deadlines while maintaining quality.

Must be able to work early mornings, nights, and weekends

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Creative thinking and problem‑solving skills

Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events

Previous experience with live streaming software (VMix or similar) a plus
