Fiber Placing Foreman – Underground
Location Northwest Florida – Ft. Walton Beach, FL
Pay Range Base: $22.00/hr – $28.00/hr (Actual pay based on experience; see recruiter)
Position Overview Prime Telecom Solutions is seeking a dedicated and skilled Underground Fiber Foreman to lead our underground crews. The role is crucial for the efficient, precise installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic cables. The Foreman will maintain a professional appearance, verify all locates before tasks, report follow‑up work to the manager, and collaborate with Project Managers to manage workload. This role offers growth opportunities within a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
Lead crew to meet project deadlines
Install, maintain, and repair underground fiber optic cables
Operate equipment such as Mini‑X, trenchers, and vibratory plows
Verify completion of all locates before performing tasks
Locate existing infrastructure before fiber placement
Identify and troubleshoot problems with fiber optic cables and equipment
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
Complete required paperwork and documentation
Communicate with customers and coworkers professionally
Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive relationships
Report any follow‑up work needed to the manager
Work closely with Dispatch and Project Managers for workload assignment
Record signal levels, daily times, function codes, and other required information
Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle and underground equipment
Assist team personnel in problem‑solving and performing duties when requested
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
3 years of equipment operator experience
Valid driver’s license
Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills
Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills with good judgment
Positive work atmosphere through respectful communication with customers, clients, coworkers, and management
Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and on time
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and applicable equipment safely and responsibly
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
