Position Summary Assist journeymen in the planning, layout, installation, testing and repair of pipe systems and components in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards. Work in a high‑volume, safety‑oriented environment supporting multiple crafts.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret measuring tools (tape, speed square, framing square, etc.) to perform tasks accurately.

Use hand tools and power tools (e.g., grinders, wrap‑around cutters) to fit and install all types of pipe and tubular products.

Perform tasks such as threading, beveling, cutting, installing valves, couplings, fittings, and removing damaged pipe.

Follow plant drawings and coordinate with crews for material and equipment movement.

Conduct daily safety checks and ensure safe operation of equipment.

Assist other crafts as needed under supervision.

Maintain communication with foremen regarding materials, hazards or issues.

Work shifts, overtime, and travel up to 90% as required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED (preferred).

3–4 years of related experience or equivalent training.

Basic knowledge of construction craft roles and safety programs.

Minimum age 18.

Skills & Abilities

Proficiency in pipefitting tools and techniques.

Ability to read drawings, interpret measurements and calculate basic numbers.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet production schedules.

Willingness to learn additional crafts as needed.

Physical Demands

Capable of 12‑hour shifts with manual handling up to 50 lbs.

Perform repetitive motions, stooping, kneeling and climbing.

Operate in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.

Required personal protective equipment (PPE) for safety and fall protection.

Hours & Travel Full‑time, typically 50 hours per week. Projects may require intermittent travel to the project site, up to 90% of the time.
