Position Description Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Arthur, IL. We need a skilled Maintenance Repair Mechanic to work on Heavy Duty vehicles.

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard and preventive maintenance.

Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer systems.

Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.

Replace defective components as instructed.

Perform facility maintenance duties.

Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints.

Use the shop management system and electronic documentation.

Work in accordance with all federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines.

Act as mentor for lower-level technicians.

Access and use maintenance documents and internal training materials.

Support operations including Service Island support as required.

Complete required training and diagnostic courses within specified timelines.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Vocational or technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred.

At least 3 years of relevant work experience preferred.

Basic mechanical tools required.

Experience with automotive gas or diesel engines, preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work).

Basic diagnostics and repairs of AC & electrical systems required.

Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred; requirement to obtain CDL within 6 months of hire.

Ability to pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, background check.

Computer skills (PC, Windows, mouse) required.

Minimum of 2 years of experience with heavy and medium duty equipment repairs and diagnostics.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Pay: $31.00 per hour.

Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification up to $700.

Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter.
